Cleaning Abbio: Stainless
It happens to everyone. You put together an amazing meal, and you try to get volunteers to clean up your mess. We love the “cook doesn’t have to do the dishes” rule, but we promise to show you how easy it is to clean stainless steel anyway.
General Cleaning
Let your cookware cool to room temperature before attempting to clean. Running cold water over a hot pan will make it harder to remove the food scraps. Set your pans to the side after you cook and go eat. They’ll be cool by cleaning time.
Wash with warm water, soap, and plastic brush or sponge. Avoid using abrasive scrubbers like metal scouring pads or steel wool, as they can scratch the surface of your cookware.
Dry the cookware with clean cloth so you don’t end up with water stains. That was easy.
My Abbio has white stains on the inside
This happens when you have hard water (high calcium content). No problem though. Fill your pot or pan with 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. You need just enough liquid to cover the areas where there are stains. Bring the liquid to a boil and then take it off the heat source. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and then wash out the cookware with soap and hot water. Water stains no more.
My Abbio has food crusted on it
Fill you pot or pan with enough soapy water to cover the stuck food. Then put the pan back on the burner and bring it to a boil. Take the pan off the burner, let the liquid cool and scrub with a nylon dish scrubber or brush. Do another round of hot water and soap if needed.
My Abbio has lost its new-cookware shine
Lightly wet your cookware - both the inside and the outside. You can do one side at a time if it’s easier. Sprinkle the surface with a bleach-free cleaner like Bar Keepers Friend or just baking soda from your cabinet. Rub the paste into the cookware with a sponge or nylon scrubbing pad. Rinse with soap water and dry with a clean cloth.
My Abbio is stained brown or black with burned oil
Oil stains can result from cooking on high heat for extended periods of time. Unlike other cookware, Abbio pans absorb heat really efficiently from the stove, so often the medium heat setting is more than enough to get a great sear without burning the food or the oil in the pan. But it's no big deal - the oil will come off.
Lightly wet your cookware - both the inside and the outside. You can do one side at a time if it’s easier. Sprinkle the surface with a stainless cleaner like Bar Keepers Friend or just baking soda from your cabinet. Rub the paste into the cookware with a heavy duty sponge or nylon scrubbing pad. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Scrub again to get the oil off. Rinse with soap water and dry with a clean cloth.
Discolorations from oil or water on your stainless pots & pans will not affect their performance. But follow the steps above to keep your Abbio shiny like new.
